PORCELAIN CROWNS
Porcelain crowns closely mimic the translucency and color variations of natural teeth, but do not have the same drawbacks as traditional crowns. Crowns are traditionally made of porcelain fused to a metal base. The result is a very strong crown that can withstand the pressures of chewing but that is also thick and opaque to cover the darkness of the underlying metal. In addition, when the crown is first placed, the gums cover the dark base, but when they recede a bit over time, they reveal the characteristic dark gumline we associate with crowns. Porcelain crowns are just as strong without compromising on translucency and beauty.
DENTAL BONDING
Dental bonding is great for covering small imperfections and resolving small cavities in your front teeth. In this procedure, the area to be corrected is first roughened and etched. Then a bonding agent is applied, followed by the composite restoration material. Dr. Root will then shape the material to match your natural teeth. After it’s finished, it will be indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
